Song and Spring will play twice at the New York Film Festival along with a third show of very rarely and never seen earlier works.
Nathaniel Dorsky’s two most recent films, Song and Spring, will play twice along with the world premiere of Jerome Hiler’s Misplacement in a show that is titled Momentary Light and Seasonal Songs: The Films of Nathaniel Dorsky and Jerome Hiler. (Program 20a and 20b)
The first show of these three films will be on Saturday, October 5th, at 7:30 pm at the Francesca Beale Theater in Lincoln Center and will repeat on Sunday, October 6th at 1:30 pm at the Howard Gilman Theater in Lincoln Center.
On Monday, October 7th, at 8:30 pm in the Howard Gilman Theater at Lincoln Center there will be a special presentation, Nathaniel Dorsky: In a Silent Way, part 2. The all hand-processed film, Ariel, from 1983, will be screened along with the first public showing of Kodachrome Dailies from the Time of Song and Solitude (Reel 2), from 2005-2006. This is the second of two forty minute reels of Kodachrome dailies, of which Reel 1 was shown at the the Gilman Theater in March, 2012 along with Jerome Hiler’s In the Stone House.
